It occurred to me that I now have enough fics posted to warrant organization of some kind.

Under the cut is a list of all my SPN fanfic. Please read individual postings for warnings and spoiler information, thanks.

1/13/2010 I now have a handy dandy fic journal! I'm still moving everything from here to there, but I have started posting the new stuff there at [info]8_track_gems. Here's my fledgling Master Post. Pardon my mess, I hope to have it all organized like very soon! (Note: All old links will still work here. I'm not deleting anything except this post when the transfer is completed.)

Master Post )

I also make icons from time to time, which you can find here. I have a resource page which is here.

I am also hosting a Recipe Swap which you can find here.

I haven’t done an episode reaction post in a long time….

Rambling and spoilers for last night's ep )

Unrelated: How many people have been getting migraines in the last 24 hours? Is it the low pressure thingy that’s coming through? Looks like my son will be missing school again today, I’m on my 4th migraine of the week, and I need something to shake an angry fist at.

Also, thanks to everyone who voted in yesterday's poll! It looks like Advanced Fiction Writing is the winner.

I enjoyed the last writing class I took, and I was thinking of signing up for another. But two caught my eye, and I cannot decide between them, because I find them each interesting for different reasons. But I also can't take them both at the same time, either. Help me?

Poll #1521184 Make my decisions for me.
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 12

Which creative writing class should I sign up for?

Note: Both are just for fun. I have no big plans or anything. I just like learning stuff.

Stolen from [info]maharet83, [info]mrstotten, [info]rebekahfair, and [info]maychorian:

And now, for something entirely silly: Who on LJ do you ship me with? Bonus points for outlining the ridiculous AU fic that you would write about us.

Not posting to comms yet because it's a prequel to an unfinished WIP, but in case anyone here is interested...

Title: Can’t You Hear the Thunder?
Word count: 4,107
Rating: R (for some language)
Disclaimer: I don’t own any top secret government assassins.
Summary: Dean Jackson, usually an assassin for a top secret government agency, gets assigned to “babysit” an important and powerful Senator’s son.
Warning: Drug use-those darn hippies :P

A/N: This is my [info]help_haiti fic for the lovely and generous winning bidder, [info]mrstotten. She wanted a fic set in the All I Saw Was Ruin verse (an unfinished WIP otherwise known as the assassin!Dean fic) in which assassin!Dean and pacifist!Sam bump into each other. She provided word prompts of “dangerous”, “milk” and “yams”. If I didn’t use the actual word, the concept is implied. Oh, and “kangaroo” was in there somewhere, too. Anyhoo, this is a prequel to All I Saw Is Ruin.

Traveling in a fried-out combie. On a hippie trail, head full of zombie

My daughter has started sex ed classes this week. From her explanations, they sound very different than the ones they had when I went to school. We've been talking about it alot, and she frequently critiques her instructor's teaching style. I listen and nod, but I mostly think about how much I miss conversations that either start or end with "mommy".

When she's not around, I sigh. Alot.

I let someone talk me into try some sort of anti-wrinkle cream because apparently it is never too early to start worrying about wrinkles? I tried it, and I broke out. Well, I guess it worked. Zits remind me of being a teenager. I feel younger already.

I looked up an old "diary" entry from when the kids were small, and she hadn't gone off to public school yet and was still innocent and uncorrupted.

I'm in the shower for exactly 4.5 seconds when there is another knock at the door. "Mommy, can we have cookies for breakfast?" My daughter is four years old and I have answered this question no less than 847 times. I'll have to look in her baby book, but I'm pretty sure that her first complete sentence involved cookies and breakfast.

Does it make me a bad mother if I said yes so that I could shave both of my legs at the same time? Today was supposed to be right leg day, but....

Time flies, people.

P.S. At the time of this writing, I have two smooth legs. JSYK.

I finished the rough draft prologue for the Big Bang fic that I'm co-writing with [info]rebekahfair, AND I have 6,700 words in chapter Ten of Ten Wishes, and that chapter is nearly done. (rough draft, of course).

To celebrate...

Stolen from [info]mrstotten . The first TEN FIVE people to comment in this post get to request a drabble/ficlet of any pairing/character of their choosing from me (as long as I know the fandom). It can be slash, gen or het. It can even be original fic. It can also be from any verse I have previously written.

Author reserves the right to determine the rating. :-)

I'm offering up a thousand word minimum fic in either SPN or crack!RPF of the King Misha variety at [info]help_haiti, and you can find me here for the starting bid of $3. Details about what's on the table are at my thread there.

I still cannot BELIEVE how awesome fandom is. I keep refreshing the page at the Minion Unicef drive and am astounded by how much has been raised in such a short time. At the time of this writing, it's over $15,000.

Fandom rocks.

Title: Vertigo
Rating: R (only for language)
Word Count: 4600-ish
Disclaimer: Please don’t sue me, thanks.
Characters: Sam, Dean
Summary: Dean is dizzy. Sam worries.
A/N: Set sometime before season four, maybe mid-season three, I guess. Written for [info]roque_clasique’s birthday comment fic meme. The prompt was: “Dean is always dizzy.” It’s close enough, I think. He’s not always dizzy, but it happens a lot. H/C with bonus smoking!Dean. A big thanks to [info]mrstotten for the beta. *smish* All remaining mistakes are my own.

The first time it happened, Dean was driving and Sam was sleeping in the passenger seat.

1). I survived Christmas and New Year's. There should be a T-shirt.

2). I had a dream last night that I decided to give up writing fan fiction. *dies laughing* Riiight.

3). Big Bang sign ups January 11th!! I'm giving that another go, but this time I'm co-writing with the lovely [info]rebekahfair. We've got our outline ready to go. :-)

4). OMG wut? March and the LA con are nearly here! Also Steve Carlson tweeted something about a CD release party in London around the same time as the LA Con. I am taking that to mean he will not be attending LA. However, they are doing karaoke Friday night. That's a plus.

5). I have been and am still working on Ten Wishes. Don't panic, because I won't, but at this point I kinda just want to kill them all off, right now, in something really fiery and spectacular. Why do some stories write themselves, and other make you stretch and reach for every single god damn word?

6). Question: Are there any SPN fan vids set to Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit? Because I want to see the boys fed up with everything, and breaking shit set to catchy music. I also wish there was an episode with Dean wielding a chainsaw. Because that would be hot awesome.

7). Original Fic: One fall day, he got lost. That in itself wasn’t unusual, but usually when he got lost he ended up on the wrong end of something with teeth. What made the experience different this time was that instead of waking up inside of a free clinic with an IV attached to him, he found himself again in a musty smelling stairwell that had a door at the bottom of it.

There was a rail, which was good, since he had a hard time keeping his balance. He can’t remember why, but then again, he’d never tried very hard, either. He never was one to waste his time, and remembering the why of a thing doesn’t change the thing itself, or put food in his stomach. With no idea where he was or how he got there, he took the door as a good sign. Doors were meant to be opened. Doors went places.

It'll probably go nowhere. The story, not the door :P I apologize for all the "he"'s but he doesn't get a name until later, once he finds out what's behind the door.

8). Movies I've watched over Winter Break: GI Joe, Gran Turino (♥), Avatar, Max Payne (two enthusiastic thumbs down), and the Night at the Museum sequel.

9). I've been keeping busy, but for everything that I work on I feel as if there is something else I should be doing.

10). How are you guys? Is 2010 treating you right so far? Do you deserve a "I survived Christmas and New Years Eve 2009" T shirt, too?

I wanted to say THANK YOU to my anonymous Secret Santa for the LJ gift. I don't know who you are, but that was such a nice surprise, and you are just too sweet! Thank you!

Secondly, if anyone is interested in reading a short fic involving, Sam, Castiel and sled riding, I just posted one called A Powerful Thing at my ficjournal, [info]8_track_gems. The fic journal is still under construction but it didn't make sense to post it here, and then move it later. Anyways, I wanted to write a sassy!fic, but it came out gen. Such is life.

Third. Quick fic rec: Angel School of Driving. It's one of the responses to the [info]spnwriterlounge's Journal Jar challenge. Angels. Driving. Cars. Need I say more? (PG, 1199 words, implied Dean/Castiel)

Saw this at [info]tehopheliac's journal and couldn't resist.

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining South Park and Sex and the City.
The story should use unplanned pregnancies as a plot device!

One thing we like to do is make frequent trips to the library. When the kids come home, they pretty much devour their new titles like it's Christmas. Mostly they lean towards scary stuff, and popular kids titles. I try and steer them towards older stuff that isn't currently the buzz. Problem is, I'm not all that learn-ed. So any book suggestions?

Their ages are 11 and 9 right now, but they typically read well past their age groups. So comprehension level (past their ages) is very flexible for both of them. Typically P(11 yr old girl) leans towards animal books (she just finished Old Yeller-oh, the tears!), and J (9 yr old boy) leans toward humor, action/adventure. They both love supernatural type stuff like RL Stine. Also, he often talks his sister into reading books out loud to him, rather than reading it himself.

A few examples of things they've already read:

LotR (I read it to them, an abridged version to keep things interesting since they were younger)
Princess Bride
A Wrinkle In Time
The Boxcar Children

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I know there are a lot of bookworms on my flist, and I'd love it if you could rec us some things to keep us busy over winter break. Rare titles might be available at the library, they participate in loans from other counties within the state. We'd just have to reserve it. So don't limit yourself on that account.

Thanks in advance! *hugs*

ETA: I forgot to mention that P loves to write. (Currently, her daily word count is KILLING her mother's *facepalm*) Anyways....exposing her to lots of different writing styles is another reason I'm looking for recs. Enjoyment first, but style also. If that makes sense. Thanks again!

I'm supposed to be resting my eyes. My laptop is doing her part, she keeps overheating. But not before [info]just_ruth sent me an email that made me snort water through my nose.

Gone With the Wind is on. I actually considered watching it, but then remembered that I need EYES for that. *sigh*

I'm not going to make it until Friday. I can see that.

Music! I don't need peepers for music.

Just one song, but the player is kinda big. )

*smish*

Also there are some kind of LJ awards. I am not clear on particulars, (is there an award, a plaque, a TROPHY??) but I want to win for the sake of winning. I have my petty reasons.ETA: Actually, I can totally live with coming in 2nd place, too.
